Dr. Annette R. Smith has been a teacher, a media specialist, a district technology director, a professor, and most recently the Director of Instructional Technology & Support at TeachingBooks.net. Annette’s knowledge and passion for education has led her to serve on the Board of Directors for the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) and as president of the Wisconsin Educational Media and Technology Association (WEMTA) where she chaired multiple statewide conferences.
She has published works in a variety of educational journals around leadership, teaching and learning. Annette has received numerous awards including ISTE’s Making IT Happen Award. Annette has a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin and her doctoral thesis focuses on the role of technology directors in k-12 environments with a focus on leadership.
Kara Gann has been a classroom teacher, an instructional technology coach, Informational Technology Program Administrator, Director of Strategic Integration and is currently a Strategic Account Manager at Schoology. Kara has played an active role within the International Society for Technology in Education. (ISTE) She has served on the ISTE Board of Directors, was a member of ISTE’s ESEA’s Reauthorization Advisory Council, and served as the Workshop Chairman for ISTE’s Conference in 2010 and the BYOD Co-Chair for ISTE 2014 in Atlanta.
Gann has received a Presidential Service Award, is a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Professional Honor Society for Women Educators, and has written a series of Articles for Learning and Leading Magazine. Kara is International Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) V3 Training and Foundation certified. Gann has extensive training in Facilitative Leadership, Solution Tree’s PLC Model, Instructional Coaching, and Management and System’s Theory. Gann holds a M.Ed. in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University and a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Wyoming.
